Mike Hughes, Esq.
Mike is a veteran ERISA and
Employee Benefits lawyer with over 30 years of experience counseling clients in
all aspects of employee benefits and ERISA law, including the design, drafting,
implementation and administration of qualified and nonqualified retirement
plans, flexible compensation programs, welfare benefits plans, and fiduciary law
aspects of ERISA. Mr. Hughes’ practice has involved him in extensive plan
compliance work on behalf of clients, including plan compliance audits,
submitting plans for correction under the IRS' Employee Plan Compliance
Resolution Program, and determination letter and private letter rulings from the
Internal Revenue Service.
Bruce J. Temkin, MSPA, EA
Bruce J. Temkin is
an Enrolled Actuary. He is a nationally recognized authority on qualified
plans, their distributions and retirement decision-making. He has authored,
taught and published numerous advanced continuing education programs on
these subjects. Recent programs include national conferences sponsored by
the American Law Institute, American Institute of Certified Public
Accountants, American College of Trust and Estate Council, American Society
of Actuaries, just to name a few.
Mr. Temkin is a
sought-after speaker to employee benefit groups throughout the United States
and also frequently addresses tax institutes, such as The Notre Dame Tax
Institute, Southern Federal Tax Institute, Kansas Tax Institute, USC Tax
Institute, on a variety of employee benefit topics. He is also a frequent
speaker to numerous other statewide sponsored accounting and legal society
programs throughout the United States. He has the distinction of both
developing and chairing the American Law Institute-American Bar
Association’s national program on financial decision-making for lawyers and
their clients.
He is a frequently
quoted resource to various news and financial publications, such as
Newsweek, Forbes, Fortune, The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Nation’s
Business, on a variety of employee benefit, tax, and retirement issues.
Recent works include “Maximizing Benefits from IRAs and Qualified Plans” and
the critically acclaimed book, The Terrible Truth About Investing.

MARK K. DUNBAR,
M.A.A.A., M.S.P.A.

As an Enrolled Actuary and
Senior Consultant, Mark possesses broad experience as a pension
consultant, spanning over twenty years in the employee benefits field.
His responsibilities have encompassed all phases of the retirement
planning process, from the development of new business to plan design
and technical research. Mark has specialized in the design options
available under qualified retirement plans. Mark is a frequent speaker
at seminars in both western Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
A life-long Pittsburgher,
Mark is a 1976 graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, earning a
B.A. degree in Mathematics. Mark is President of Dunbar, Bender & Zapf,
Inc. In addition to his duties at Dunbar, Bender & Zapf, Inc. Mark is a
Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, a Member of the American
Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries, and an Enrolled Actuary.

ROBERT L.
McNULTY, CPC

Bob is a Retirement Plan Consultant with ten years experience in the
employee benefits field. Bob was born and raised in Pittsburgh, and
is a 1994 Summa Cum Laude graduate of Waynesburg College, earning
B.S. degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science. Waynesburg College
honored Bob at the 1994 commencement ceremony as valedictorian of
his graduating class.
Bob joined Dunbar,
Bender & Zapf, Inc. in December of 1994, and is the Coordinator of
the Special Plans Unit. The founding and senior partners of Dunbar,
Bender & Zapf, Inc. provided Bob an ownership share of the company
late in 1999.
Bob specializes in all
aspects of defined contribution plan design issues including
cross-tested allocation structures and compliance requirements. Bob
is a Member of the American Society of Pension Professionals &
Actuaries and has achieved the designation of Certified Pension
Consultant in that organization. |
John S. Agatston, CFA, FSA,
EA, MAAA, MSPA
John is a Fellow of the
Society of Actuaries, an Enrolled Actuary and a Member of the American
Academy of Actuaries and the American Society of Pension Actuaries. John
is also a Chartered Financial Analyst. He has also previously been a
Certified Public Accountant in New York State. A graduate from
Carnegie-Mellon University, John first worked as an actuary for Peat,
Marwick, Mitchell & Co. in New York City. As a senior consultant at PMM
& Co., he audited the five retirement systems and developed the pension
accounting procedures where PMM & Co. performed the first outside audit
of the City of New York. Prior to forming his own company, John S.
Agatston Actuarial Services, John was a Vice-President for Halliwell &
Associates, Inc. and Chief Actuary & Senior Consultant for Johnson &
Higgins, both in Pittsburgh. |
